This section is dedicated to all the ladies who have
fervently supported our club's competitions through rain
or shine. It would never have been made possible if not
for the dedication and devotion of the many members who,
throughout the years, have faithfully and painfully chronicled
all the entries without the aid of modern technology,
as one record shows, since 1931.
But for a brief appearance each year at the Spring Meeting
and the Autumn Meeting, these trophies and awards will
disappear into the new winners' homes. And so for the
rest of us, it is as if they never existed even though
they have been a part of our club's history for as long
as one remembers.
It is hoped that, in a small way, this list and its contents
will bring back fond memories for those of us who were
fortunate enough to be proud owners of the coveted trophies.
To help us remember about all the lonely hours of frustration
at practice and the perseverance that made it all worth
while. To serve as an encouragement for those of us who
suffered the agony of defeat and saw the glory slip by.
But most important of all, to remind us that a winner...is
a dreamer who never quits. |
